【Supplement Warning】 Products containing unlabeled stimulants
2013-10-16

Two independent groups of scientists from US and South Korea found unlabeled methamphetamine like-compound in a pre-workout supplement – Craze. The US scientists also found the same chemical, N,alpha diethylphenylethylamine, in a weight-loss product – Detonate.

N,alpha diethylphenylethylamine is an illicit designer drug that has psychoactive effects, such as enhancing mental activities and pain tolerance. This chemical has not been safely tested for human consumption. The scientists believed that the chemical was added to the supplements intentionally for its pharmacological effects without adequate labeling.

The above findings are yet to be confirmed by the regulatory authorities. Athletes, however, are warned to avoid dangerous supplements of similar nature. After all, the supplement, Craze, has led to several positive tests among athletes already.
