2010-08-31

Federation Internationale de Gymastique (FIG) has recently issued a severe warning to a previously retired Romanian gymnast Marian Dragulescu for failing to comply with the whereabouts requirements governing retired athletes prior to returning to competition. FIG has warned further that the athlete will be subject to suspension for subsequent offence.

In relation to this, HKADC would like to remind all athletes who are currently or previously included in our testing pools that according to Article 5.6.2 of the HKADC Anti-Doping Rules, an Athlete who has given notice of retirement to HKADC may not resume competing unless he or she notifies HKADC at least six months before he or she expects to return to competition. These athletes should comply with the relevant whereabouts requirements and makes him/herself available for unannounced Out-of-Competition Testing at any time during the period before actual return to competition.
