Two Bodybuilders Sanctioned for Evading Sample Collection

The Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) announced today (31 July 2012) that Ms.Luk Pak Yu and Mr. Pan Tong Fung of Hong Kong, China, athletes in the sport of Bodybuilding, both have been imposed a 4-year sanction for an anti-doping rule violation.

The violation occurred during an in-competition doping control on 24 June 2012 where both athletes evaded from sample collection.

In response to HKADC’s assertion of anti-doping rule violation, Ms. Luk and Mr. Pan however did not attend the hearing. The Disciplinary Panel had carefully considered the cases and a 4-year sanction was imposed on both athletes due to the aggravated circumstances that they deliberately absconded and evaded sample collection. Ms. Luk and Mr. Pan are ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport affiliated to the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) or sport regulated by the World Anti-Doping Code. As a result of the anti-doping rule violation, all competitive results achieved by Ms. Luk and Mr. Pan on and after 24 June 2012 have been automatically removed.

HKADC, under the auspices of the SF&OC, is an independent committee responsible for the anti-doping programme in Hong Kong. HKADC is committed to preserve a doping-free environment for fair play in sport in Hong Kong.
