Three Bodybuilders Sanctioned for Doping Violations

The Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) announced today (17 August 2013) that Mr. DELFINO Orlando, Mr. LEE Ying Kit and Mr. WON Chi Shun, athletes in the sport of Bodybuilding, have each received sanctions of 2-year of ineligibility and a fine of HK$20,000 for anti-doping rule violations. The violation occurred during an in-competition doping control on 30 June 2013 where the three athletes’ urine was tested positive for various prohibited substances.

Mr. DELFINO Orlando was tested positive for Furosemide.

Mr. LEE Ying Kit was tested positive for Boldenone and its metabolite, Stanozolol and 19-Norandrosterone.

Mr. WON Chi Shun was tested positive for Drostanolone.

In response to HKADC’s notification of adverse analytical finding, all three athletes waived their rights to order the further analysis of their B samples and chose not to attend the hearing. The Disciplinary Panel had carefully considered the cases at the hearing held on 16 August 2013 and all three athletes were found guilty of having violated the Anti-Doping Rules of HKADC.

All three athletes are ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport affiliated to the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) or organizations regulated by the World Anti-Doping Code during the period of ineligibility. As a result of the anti-doping rule violation, all competitive results achieved by these three athletes on and after 30 June 2013 have been automatically removed. HKADC, under the auspices of the SF&OC, is an independent committee responsible for the anti-doping programme in Hong Kong.

HKADC is committed to preserve a doping-free environment for fair play in sport in Hong Kong.
