Bodybuilding Athlete Sanctioned for Refusal to Submit to Sample Collection

The Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) announced today (30 March 2020) that Mr. LAW Chi Fung of Hong Kong, China, athlete in the sport of bodybuilding, has been imposed a 4-year sanction for an anti-doping rule violation.

The violation occurred during an out-of-competition doping control on 11 December 2019 where the athlete refused to submit to sample collection.

In response to HKADC’s assertion of anti-doping rule violation, Mr. LAW exercised his right to attend and testify at the hearing on 21 February 2020. The Disciplinary Panel had carefully considered the case and Mr. LAW was found guilty for violating the Anti-Doping Rules of HKADC due to his refusal to submit to sample collection without compelling justification. Mr. LAW’s period of ineligibility is from 21 February 2020 to 20 February 2024.

During the period of ineligibility, Mr. LAW is ineligible to participate in any capacity in a competition or activity described in Article 10.12.1 of the Anti-Doping Rules of HKADC.
