2012-09-14

The Hong Kong Anti-Doping Committee (HKADC) announced today (14 September 2012) that Mr. Vicente GALEDO, Mr. CHAN Keung, Ms. KOO Siu Ngan and Mr. WONG Wang Chi, athletes in the sport of Bodybuilding, all have been imposed a new 2-year sanction for an anti-doping rule violation.

The violation occurred when these four athletes, during their period of ineligibility due to previous anti-doping rule violation, competed at the 2012 HKFBF International Bodybuilding and Fitness Invitation Championships on 12-15 July 2012.

In response to HKADC’s assertion of anti-doping rule violation, all four athletes however did not attend the hearing. The Disciplinary Panel had carefully considered the cases and a new 2-year sanction, starting over again from the date of the violation, was imposed on all four athletes due to participation in competition during their period of ineligibility.

All four athletes are ineligible to participate in any capacity with any sport affiliated to the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) or organizations regulated by the World Anti-Doping Code. According to the World Anti-Doping Code, all competitive results achieved by the each of the four athletes on 12-15 July 2012 at the 2012 HKFBF International Bodybuilding and Fitness Invitation Championships will be automatically removed.

HKADC, under the auspices of the SF&OC, is an independent committee responsible for the anti-doping programme in Hong Kong. HKADC is committed to preserve a doping-free environment for fair play in sport in Hong Kong.
