Phase 1 of the HKADC Testing Programme

Following the guidelines from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), HKADC has identified and established a testing pool of athletes who are monitored by the testing programme. In Phase 1 of the HKADC Testing Programme, 99 athletes in categories Elite A and Elite B of the Elite Training Grant (ETG) have been included in the testing pool. To facilitate no advance notice out-of-competition testing, these athletes are required to report accurate and up-to-date whereabouts information to HKADC on a regular basis.

Athletes being nominated to represent Hong Kong in major games, if not already included in the testing pool, are also required to provide their whereabouts, so as to facilitate random no notice out-of-competition testing prior to their departure for the games.

During Phase 1, a total of 150 tests will be conducted on athletes included in the testing pool and also on athletes being nominated to represent Hong Kong in major games.

Since the launch of HKADC Testing Programme, encouraging support from athletes, coaches, and officials have been received. Without their understanding and cooperation, it would be impossible to implement an effective drug testing programme in Hong Kong.
